Last night I played at the launch of the Evesham Mop Fair Archive at the Almonry Heritage Centre in Evesham. The event was put together by Lisa Kimberley and her team at Archive Arts. I sang "Evesham Fair" from my "Looking For England" CD and was delighted to hear many of the audience joining in with the chorus. Not that I gave them much choice! It's a great project that includes voices of people talking about their own experiences of the Mop Fair and even includes a restored carousel horse which you can see in the picture. The Mop Fair goes back about 800 years. That's my old Martin D28s I'm playing there.
